Gavin Cochrane Gavin Cochrane is better known for his pot-limit Omaha prowess but he swapped four hole cards for two on April 24 and showed he has plenty of skilled in the no-limit Hold’em arena.

Cochrane was one of 371 entrants in the $888 Sunday Crazy Eights tournament online at GGPoker . Those entrants created a $312,975 prize pool, which far exceeded the advertised $200,000 guarantee. The top 53 finishers bagged a slice of the prize pool after Bert Stevens bowed out in 54th place and burst the money bubble. Such luminaries as Joao Vieira , Samuel Vousden , Isaac Haxton , Ole Schemion , and Joao Simao all cashed but fell short of the eighth-handed final table.

Any of the eighth finalists would have made a worthy champion. However, Juan Dominguez did not last long under the spotlight because he busted in eighth place, a finish worth $8,157. Dominguez’s prize was the only four-figure sum awarded at the final table.

Le Fang and Konstantin Maslak were the next duo out of the door. Their deep runs resulted in payments of $10,878 and $14,506 heading to their GGPoker accounts.

Then came the elimination of the online legend that is Chris Moorman . Based in Mexico, the UK star walked away with $19,344 for his fifth-place finish.

The final table lost another two dangerous opponents to send the tournament into the heads-up stage. First, Christian Rudolph crashed out in fourth for $25,796 and Israel’s Ravid Garbi joined Rudolph on the sidelines with a $34,399 payout by his side.

Cochrane locked horns and butted heads with “chess_noob” and managed to sweep his Canadian opponent aside, locking in the $61,173 top prize and resigning chess_noob to a $45,873 payday. $888 Sunday Crazy Eights HR Final Table Results
